Bodies Of Missing Snowmobilers Pulled From Lake Simcoe
The search for two missing
snowmobilers came to a tragic end after their bodies were discovered in Lake Simcoe late Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased men were recovered about 1.6 kilometres off Georgina Island. |

windy like you wouldn't believe,15 ft of water,perch like flies,could actually watch them suck the bait in,took all my effort to keep
the hut over the holes,would of been an awesome day except for the wind.me and the kid stayed maybe 1.5 hrs,caught 10 or so,ice is
pretty soft,6 turns with the auger,we just followed 2 guys out that were heavier than us.had a chat with pete,he might talk alot but
his heart's in the right place.for his sake,i hope there lots of ice soon....see you monday (if the winds can frig off).take |

My wife and I decided to hit Gilford today. There at 1pm, we walked out 1.5 km til we saw a pressure crack, "That's far enuff". We spent
2 hrs looking for aggressive perch finally after running and gunning fishing approx 20 holes, we found them. Ice was solid 5-8" and the
perch were hungry.

Virginia beach was good today ... had to follow them constantly ... never really had any 'hot' holes. We caught in excess of 150 ... alot
of small ones ... kept about 50. Alot of huge sunfish too! ... Has anyone ever tried eating one of those babies?! We thought about
keeping one but wasn't 100% sure on the season or the rules? Ice was good...7 or 8 inches. We ended up getting bait from some hippie dude
near Sutton on Hwy 48 ... Bait shop / Head shop ... coulda bought worms and bongs in one shopping 'trip' !! Anyways...that's my experience
for the day ... just got finished filetting and headin' it to the ole fartsack ... g'night

10/12/2007 Lake Couchiching
Walked on at Airport Rd and had a line in the water by 8AM and stayed
until 2PM. Had to work for them but managed 13 keepers between 10-11.5 inches.Probably landed 60 fish in total. All on jigging raps
and bugs.
The ice was a consistant 4-5 inches from Airport Rd right over to the Island. Just a dusting of snow on top of the ice ...
perfect for walking. One other group of 4 fishermen out there. I stopped and chatted with them on the way back to shore. They had a good
number of fish on the ice some a little small..but a good mix of 9-11 inchers as well.

Cook's Bay is almost frozen over and is NOT safe! Predicting possible solid ice if conditions
continue by December 16, 2007. Check with local ice hut operators before coming out.
Still busy fishing off the Barrie Docks.
